Very high filtration yields. Due to the depth filtration of the free-fiber cloth. TSS concentrations up to 5 mg/l expected at discharge, depending on application.
PPC - PPC VM Disc Filters
filter area from 10m² to 160m²A solution for high filtration yields and efficient handling and backwashing, with only two pumps for the whole system: the PPC and PPC VM disc filters are for concrete or metal tank, respectively. Versatility and little ancillary work required for operation.
Low installed powers. Ideal for markets with strict limitations.
Reduced energy use. Gravity filtration, power consumption only in the backwash phase.
Operational continuity. Filtration is continuous during counter-current cloth washing.
Flexibility with different loads. Self-adjustment according to input parameters.
Minimum lifecycle cost. Low investment (CAPEX), maintenance and resource utilization (OPEX) costs result in optimal return on investment.

PPC and PPC VM disc filters for water filtration: system description
The PPC – PPC VM series of disc filters was developed for installations serving medium to large capacity plants. Depth filtration, typical of MITA free-fiber cloth filters, ensures great efficiency for these installations as well.
In the filters of the PPC – PPC VM range, the washing of the cloths is carried out by means of only two pumps (one of which is a spare) to which all the discs are enslaved. The selection of the discs on which backwashing is carried out, in sequence, is achieved by means of pneumatically controlled double-acting valves. In this way, even during the backwash phases, the functionality of the machine is not interrupted, thus making the presence of a reserve unit unnecessary.
The system is equipped with an additional pump dedicated to sludge extraction.
The largest model in this series has a maximum number of discs of 32, a filtering area of 160 m2 with a floor space of only 20 m2. There is no shortage of applications of PPC and PPC VM filters in the industrial field as well, for a finishing of process water for the purpose of spilling into rivers or lakes, or for more useful water reuse in internal processes.

Cloth Filters and Cooling Towers for Plastic Industry
Cooling and wastewater treatment together: that's the card that proved successful in supporting a plastics equipment company in northern Italy, which was already working with MITA Cooling Technologies (now a commercial partner of MITA Water Technologies). The possibility of water reuse, through comprehensive management of this resource, is a card that industries can exploit to derive value from blue gold.
