MITA Water Technologies Invests in Energy Efficiency at its Production Site with Support from Regione Lombardia

MITA Water Technologies (MITA WT) announces the completion of its Energy Efficiency Refurbishment project at its production facility, an initiative to strengthen the company’s commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact. The project involved the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic system and the energy refurbishment of internal systems within the production department.

The total investment for the energy refurbishment amounts to €749,450.78 and was carried out with the support of the Regione Lombardia’s PR FESR 2021-2027 regional program, under Action 2.1.3 “Support for the energy efficiency of company buildings and/or production plants” – Investment Call – Green Line.

MITA WT: commitment to water and the environment

MITA WT provides efficient and low-energy systems for wastewater treatment and reuse. Therefore, the installation of the photovoltaic system, with the contribution from the Region, is a step consistent with the company’s mission.

MITA Water Technologies is a specialist in civil and industrial water treatment and is part of the international Axius Water group, dedicated to wastewater reuse with a diversified range of technologies. The equipment offered by MITA WT focuses particularly on tertiary filtration and biological treatment: among these, Pile Cloth Filters for tertiary filtration, systems known for their very high suspended solids removal efficiency and minimal product lifecycle cost. The company also manufactures and markets the Biorulli® biological oxidation system (or “rotating biological contactors”), used for secondary treatments. This is a further low-energy, efficient, low-operating-cost, and extremely flexible technology.

2. The Regional Funding

The energy refurbishment project was supported through a granted concession amounting to €130,401.70.

This amount includes a non-repayable grant of €112,417.62, in addition to an ESL Aid of €17,984.08, corresponding to the release of a Guarantee on a loan of €637,033.16. The intervention falls within the scope of “Support for the Energy Efficiency of Company Buildings and/or Production Plants”.
